Victor, yes you did ask about hooking up a mac keyboard with the
Newton, actually at the time I had very little knowledge of the newton,
actually I still do. When I bought it came with a whole bunch of stuff
and most of the documentation is in German. Really I had very little
idea of what I had, but as time passes I am learning more, but slowly
as my newton is in German. I do have the FreeKey software and hardware.

I would be more then happy to make good quality scans for anyone
interested. As far as the software is concerned, I would be more then
happy to share it with the whole community, and some of you have
expressed interest, I really want to cooperate and submit this software
for anyone interested but I need to know if it is ok to do. I don't
want the developer to feel hijacked. If we can work together on finding
out the legality, if there is interest, then I will only be happy to
help.

As far as the previous owner is concerned, he doesn't speak English.

I really want to help everyone here as much as possible to discover
this piece of hardware called FreeKey. I will do all I can.

The box, which is just in black and white has what looks like a newton
120 or 130 above a metal holder (dock) with the hardware interface snug
in the middle sitting in a crevice in the holder. The holder or dock
and the interface sit below the newton. It acts as a holder.

The company which made this is OMNISYS (I just started reading this
after so much interest)

Their address
OMNISYS
Systementwicklung
Delpstr. 23, D-81679 München
Tel:089-980598, Fax:089-292648
email: Flo_Biehler_at_compuserve.com

The above came from a flyer printed in black on yellow paper,
showcasing their products.

I will give you a description of what is on the flyer but it won't be
easy as it is in German, but I will try to make it out.

They made
FreeDock 2000, (a docking station for the 2000/2100)
FreeScan 2000, (Bar code reader)
FreeKey, (connects any IBMPC keyboard or Apple ADB Keyboard via the
Newton Serial Port, it also supports barcode scanners and magnetic card
readers, but thos last two points require additional hardware) I
believe this only works with the 120 and 130, but I am not sure. I am
assuming this based on the graphic appearing on both the box and the
pamphlet.
FreeCard, (is hardware that adds Magentic Card Reading capabilities)

If anyone hear reads German and English, it would be great to have a
translation of this pamphlet for the community.

Ok after looking at some of the other documentation, pertinent to the
FreeKey itself, I found another address:
