Granted, the Sony U70's looks could use Apple's design touch (the Samsung Nexio
is a better looker, http://www.dynamism.com/nexio/gallery.shtml ), but the point
is the Newton started something, over ten years ago. The concept of a full
fledged computer, not just a digital assistant, in a small form factor. The
emergence of the U70 only further underscores that the technology is readily
available and in production.
Since a Mac OS X computer with a Wacom Cintiq display/tablet can work happily
together with Newton-inherited HWR, it's only Apple's licensing and their (fill
in the motive) keeping the production of similar U70 or Nexio style device
("iPad"?) from happening.
And, dammit, I want one!
