[NTLK] Dead 2100?

I've run across a problem where I cannot turn on my 2100 anymore. It
looks like the rechargeable battery has completely drained, and is not
taking a charge. Should the newt be able to turn on while it's plugged
in if the battery is unable to take a charge? I just placed the
battery in the freezer for about an hour, and am trying to charge it up
again. I also tried a soft reset while it was plugged in to no avail.
What should I do to try and get it working again?
