The only way I am aware of circumventing this (and I might very well
be wrong) is to press the reset button on the bottom of the Newt and
while doing this, pull the power switch.
A dialog box will open asking you whether you wish to erase all data,
click on no. This should boot the Newton past the password. Copy all
data to a memory card and format the unit.
If that doesn't work then I am afraid the only way to do ANYTHING is
to hard reset the unit as per the above mentioned procedure.
