Hi, Tom

I actually didn't know that SimpleMail was able to check mail at scheduled times, but after reading your post I gave it a try. It works great for me, even when my eMate is closed and off. I used to have to wait for all my e-mail to download, but now I have it check for new mail every two hours throughout the day. So it's all ready to go when I sit down at night. This is wonderful! I am sorry that you are not having the same luck, though.

Now, if only the filter could be made to work with the names, I would be set. I want to be able to set a filter to only accept mail from those people in my names/address book. Anything else is usually junk mail and wastes download time. If it's not junk mail, but someone I don't already have in my address book, then I will see the message when I check Mail on my Mac. But 99% of the time, if the sender is not in my addresses, it's because it is junk mail, so this ability to filter by who's in the names application would be great. If I'm missing something and you can already do this with SimpleMail, could someone please let me know how?

Thanks.

Rick

hello newt-list:

I asked about this a few days ago, but I have ony gotten one response.
for starters, can anyone confirm that the new mail sound on simple mail
works?

does the automatic delivery work? does the newton have to be on
already for the mail to be fetched on schedule?

in simplemail prefs, when i set read items to be filed in my 'read'
folder, that pref doesn't 'stick'. the next time i open the prefs it
is set back to file read items in 'unfiled items'

is simple mail a finished product or does it have bugs like this?
also, what do i need to do to fix all my simple mail problems?

thanks,
Tom Isenbarger
