My Newton MessagePad 2000 kit has become nonfunctional ... the screen
is no longer responding to touch and it doesn't turn on anymore. I
haven't used it in years. I'm leery of handing it out to someone,
though, because if it can be revived there's a lot of personal data on
it and on the storage cards. Before I destroy it, if this is a known
problem that someone knows how to fix easily, I'd like to hear about
it.
If it can't be made to work, I'll let anyone who wants the accessories
(cases, keyboard, connecting cables, stylus, battery tray, a dozen
software titles, fax modem, power supply and international adapter
pack, etc) have them for the cost of shipping.
If the Pad can be made to work at no cost, I'll clear it and the
memory cards and throw them into the deal.
If there are no responses, this stuff will all get destroyed and
thrown in the dumpster within the week.

i don't know him - but somebody please help him and save the newt from
death!
