Thanks muchly. The brainwipe did the trick.

Interesting browsing through all the other options while setting up. I see
a few infra red capable printers there. Must check out what's out there
now...

Hmm what do you see? Sounds like the teachers setup was enabled and
locked out most of the apps. As far as I know the only way around this
is a brain wipe. Unless you can guess the teachers password.
