Definitions from the Newton Glossary:

Heap
An area of memory reserved for use by programs. On a Newton device,
sometimes heap refers to specifically to just the NewtonScript Heap. See
also C++ Heap and NewtonScript Heap.

C++ Heap
One part of reserved memory used specifically by native program
functions. Sometimes this part of the heap is confused with all parts of
reserved memory which are not part of the NewtonScript Heap.

NewtonScript Heap
An area of RAM used by the system for dynamically allocated objects,
including NewtonScript objects.
