The USB->serial chip is quite generic and would work with Win98SE+, OS X, Linux.
UnixNPI / Newten for OS X support USB serial ports.
DCL-based applications like Escale supports USB serial ports.
On Windows you can map USB serial ports to COM1-4, making them available to
legacy apps like NCU.
