Well...he IS talking about running his Newt as a
server and we all know that 100% (or 99%, or 80% or
even 60%) uptime is impossible...the Newt just get's a
little skitzo every once in a while..
Allowances can be made for a Newton server...as far as
uptime (having said this, I'm sure that I'll get
innundated with spectacular uptimes for NPDS newts...I
acknowledge them, but point to historical data to
support my claim)
But I do agree with your concept of max uptime for a
webserver...like the Windows servers I have...I just
left my job at MCI (UUNET) and handed over an internal
server to a coworker that has an uptime of just over 2
years. It is part of a cluster that together has been
serving webpages for going on 9 years at darn near
100% (SQL slammer cause some network congestion, but
the website never went down)
