in preparation for buying a new wifi card tomorrow, which i think will
work, i did some last minute installs of software from kallisys' site :
lantern patch
710031 patch
more wifi cards patch.
now, when i plug in the bronze card, i get the proper splash screen.
still doesn't work though. in retrospect, i wish i had installed them
one at a time to see which one fixed the splash screen problem.
anyway, i located a microsoft wifi card, which paul's site lists as
functional. i will see if i can get that tomorrow and put this behind me.
