A format might fix it, but I thought you wanted to back it up first? One
thing you could do, if you have enough space on the internal store, or if
you can make additional space, would be to transfer all the soups storage
from the card onto the internal memory and then backup. Then, try
reformatting the card, but it might have reached the end of its useful life.
As you may or may not know, flash RAM cards have a number or read/write
cycles. Once you reach that number, then the card may turn bad at any time.
Although the number is fairly large (like 100,000 cycles), cards that have
been used in some Cisco routers may have been worn out by the router. So,
all of this to say that you might not be able to recover the card even if
you format it...

fascist adj.: [common] Said of a computer system with excessive or annoying
security barriers, usage limits, or access policies. The implication is that
said policies are preventing hackers from getting interesting work done. The
variant `fascistic' seems to have been preferred at MIT, poss. by analogy
with `touristic' (see tourist or under the influence of German/Yiddish
`faschistisch').
