A wiki is a website on which anybody can create or change the content of
the pages at will. Typical features include a dead-easy formatting
markup requiring no HTML at all, and dead-easy page crosslinking
(usually done by SquashingWordsTogether). The better wikis have a
versioning system, so you can see what changes were made with each
revision.
If you look down at the bottom of the WikiWikiNewt's front page, you'll
find a series of links to stuff like how to make pages, how to format
pages, and so on.
