True it is odd, but only a couple of years ago, Apple was viewed as a
"old time" computer company whose only customers where fanatical geeks
(like us :~).

By selling the agreed upon "coolest" digital music player in existence,
and in conjunction with the coup of having all the major labels license
there music through them, they suddenly have awareness across a much
broader audience and potential to attract a much larger user base. In
conjunction with there retail effort the plan is more clear.

The kids don't know squat about Apple's history, they just know they
have the coolest computers around, and the best music products too.

By the way, HP announced today that they will pre install itunes on
every PC they sell starting this spring, and they will also sell a
private label version of ipod licensed from Apple.

Maybe these ipods will play subliminal messages in the background...
