Top to bottom, the small icons are:
* Newton Menu (access to apps, extra drawer, utilities, etc.)
* Running apps menu
* Recent apps menu
* Clock/multi-timezone display
* Battery info
* Volume control
* Backlight control
* Contrast control
* Card info
* Rotate display
* Memory info
