Well this is an unfortunate, but not completely unexpected event.

I'm a bit surprised that a company such as LandWare managed to continue
selling and supporting their Newton software products this long. I for
one, have ordered a few titles that I have always wanted to own
(specifically the absolutely awesome WriteStuff and NewtPaint. The price
is simply too good to ignore.

Perhaps this would be a good opportunity to send an email to David
Porfido and the gang at LandWare thanking them for there support of the
platform over all these years. I suggest that we all gently request that
LandWare consider releasing their remaining titles as unsupported
freeware or open source as well. It certainly wouldn't hurt to ask, would
it?
