I HAVE never had problems doing basic pkg loads to my newt. when it comes time for backing up though thats where the slowdown comes into play. i havent done a backup in a lil bit i guess this wknd will be backup time.

Sometimes I think that the whole slowdown.exe thing is totally unnecessary.
Mostly because I've never had to use it, on machines ranging from 400MHz K6-3
clone boxes to AMD Athlon 2700+ workstations and all kinds of Dells and IBMs
in between.
But that's just me.

For me too! Seems like the only time I need to use slowdown is when backing up my 32 Mb Pretec card! Downloading .pkg with the newly installed 56K ncu hack is even faster now!!
