I did not say that X.2/3 would not run.
I, as in me, would rather run 8.6 -- 9.2 on my iMac.
And likewise, 7.6 -- 9.2 on my TAM.
While I like X, I love System 9 and prefer it on older systems.
BTW, 7.6.1 seems very fast on my TAM.
