Hi Steven,
I bought a 2000 as an upgrade to my 130...much faster
and more features (ethernet, microphone, Newtworks,
etc.). However, the lack of heap killed me. I had
more heap-related problems with that thing - I had to
REALLY watch what I put on it, and Newtscape wouldn't
work properly.
So I bought a base 2100 from J&K ($59), but the case
and screen were ratty. I swapped the MLBs one night
in about three hours (I went REAL slow) and,
surprise!, they both work great. The instructions on
Frank's page were incredible - I couldn't have done it
without them.
Now I have a nice uMP2000 and a 2000 in a 2100 case as
a backup.
If you can get your hands on a 2100 MLB, go ahead and
make the swap. Whatever you do, I highly recommend
the upgrade.
Matthew
