Hi Folks,
Just a quick note to let you know that I've had success getting the "IBM
Internal High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card" to work in the Newton (MP2kU).
The IBM part no appears to be 26P8087 and it's marked as being both 3.3v
and 5v.
This card does not have a built in antenna but two small sockets.
I used Hiroshi's drivers + the Lantern patch and Morewificards.pkg and
it worked without any fuss.
I should point out here that after the concerns people have raised re:
the 3.3v, 5v issue anyone wanting to try this should satisfy themselves
that they're not going to fry their Newt and not blame me if they do :-)
I'm just reporting what happened to me and I'm happy with the card.
Cheers.
Andy.
