Ok , have found hints of this here and there. Here goes, under dock
there is a "connect to" listing that includes " modem" . and under in
the preferences of "newton backup" there is also a listing for "listen
for newton on modem". Now so far i haven't been able to find any info on
this. Just a few odd leads to this or that site, many of them dead. I
have tried it and have had some success in that the mac and the newt
recognized that a connection was made. But that's about as far as i have
gotten.
Am i just trying to work with something that never was possible or just
not documented?
The path looks like this newton 2100, 14.400 pc card modem (the
dongleless type) short phone line, plug into the modem on my old apple
laptop.
Feel free to rant or rave or just ponder.
If this is possible wouldn't it be a way around bootstrap problem?
