Ok i know the topic has come up a lot of times...
But i did search the archives (and i got a good idea of what is working)
so i am asking for extra details.
I want some method to check my email on the move.
I already own a R520 Ericsson. (Identical to T39 i think)
I think these are my options:
1)Nitro +Irda +GSM modem (NOT GPRS) using R520 (When i searched the
archives noone had success with GPRS and 520)
2)Blunt+buetooth card+GSM modem using r520 connected through bluetooth
with the newt.
3)Buy a separate GSM PC card phone (like Nokia 2.0)
The third option is the worst since i need to buy extra things
The first option is the cheapest since i already own the required hardware
The second option would be ideal cause i could have my phone in my pocket
without having to place it near Newton to see the IrDA.
Question no1: Which option is known to work??
Question no2: Since i am in the UK, and i do not have a monthly contract,
does anyone (UK based obviously) know if some company (vodafone, O2 etc)
provides Data connections with "pay as you go" SIMs? Or GPRS? Cause last
time i used to connect with mobile (3 years before) I had to pay extra in
order to have "Data" enabled.
And dont ask me why i do not want to have a contract for data. Last time i
did it I was spenting A LOT OF MONEY every month :-D
If i can receive email with the newt on the move , my dream machine would
be complete!
Thanks.
