[NTLK] Special characters, new characters

Would a Newton programmer out there explain how the Newt's charcter set
would be modified to add or update symbols/ characters/ letters to its set
of recognized characters?

Take a specific example--how will the Newton learn to recognize and
display the symbol for Euro in all its fonts as well as the different
on-screen keyboards?
