Well, I tried on and off to get connection through ethernet card and
NCU in Classic and got the -1 error. Then today I got a -28016 error:
'could not complete backup because a connection error has occurred'.
So, connection it is..... - although packages (also large) could be
transferred and keyboard could be used, backup and sync have
problems, also today.

I re checked the memory I had allocated NCU (unchanged since OS9) -
big. 36000 kb. On a hunch from nowhere I reduced it to 18000.
Restarted NCU and -

Now it syncs again! And backups! and exports notes as rtf!

I think it is weird.
