Ok, I figured modern word processors wouldn't have much trouble with it.

I'm kind of interested in finding out if NCU makes RTF files other
newton-related programs can't read! It seems kind of silly that two
programs by the same manufacturer who support the same file format can't
read each others' files :-)

I thought of testing it with simpler NCU-exported notes, but I'm busy
trying to get my newt talking to any computer that'll run NCU...
Basilisk on my linux computer won't talk to serial or ethernet, classic
on OSX.2 insists NCU can't run until I have appletalk file sharing
turned on, since the iBook has no serial port and I have no USB/serial
adaptor, but it's turned on in OS X and I can't find that control panel
anywhere in classic and I don't know where the 9.2/classic install disks
are...
Good thing the Newt is a very good standalone computer and I've never
felt the need to do much connecting to computers for anything more than
installing packages and exporting notes. I don't think I've been able to
(or tried to) do more than those two items for a couple of years now :-)
