Yes that helps a lot, and keep in mind there are tools that will unfreeze,
then run packages and when you close it will autmatically refreeze (great
for those rarely-used packages). Freezeman by stand alone (has some bugs I
believe) and Package Manager by ICS (wonderfull app, my personal choice).
There is also a free one from Stand Alone that will also do this (if I
remember right, been a long time since I used it).
