Apple recommends a "minimum" of 128MB, but that's not really going to
leave much else. I'd recommend getting as much as you can afford....
and then some.

It all depends on what you plan to do with it, really. You could use
/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor to graph your memory usage as
you're using the computer to see how much memory is needed based on
what programs you'll use and what you plan to do.

It's just as compatible as other 802.11g base stations. They all play
well with each other.
