Let me chime in on this one briefly.
Unless you're able to fix and troubleshoot your own problems in the future
then I would suggest you go with someone like J&K. But for the price of what
I gather (probably $100.01 reserve) you are getting a deal for parts (and a
no DOA policy) which would at least guarantee you a working unit. Now all I
can say is everyone were to band in and were able to make sure no one bidded
higher than 0.01 over the reserve then YES there would be a great number of
people getting a reasonable deal and the market prices of MP2x00 would drop
a little.
I was able to pickup 7 MP2x00 from Gem Enterprises - with Port Cover and
some Door Clips but of course w/o Screen Cover, Stylus, Battery Cage or
Rechargeable. They guarantee no DOA and as described. I would suggest people
watch out for their eBay Auctions as they are a reliable company that I've
dealt with located in New Jersey - they also service MP's.
God Bless,

Subject: Re: [NTLK] [NTLK][OT] Newton 2100s on eBay
Prices are not that HOT either.
They are approaching $150 a piece by the time the auction is ending. $200
for a lot of 2...
You are only getting the battery tray and the 56k modem over the JK packages
for machines which nobody is backing up (aestethicly, functionally, etc.)
for a small difference in price. I say nobody, because a seller with zero
rating is NOBODY in ebay. Besides... it is not their business. They do not
have a reputation to keep.
I'll rather purchase and support JK (PDA014) or other regular vendors which
make their living supporting our community making sure we receive good
products and service and have a reputation they want to keep up, than some
units that have been in the field doing national survey research (as we are
being told) for 5-6 years.
The only thing positive I was hoping for was that, because the additional
MP2100's on the market, the prices may come down, so that I can purchase my
MP2100 from... JK

Personally I would never touch this with a ten foot pole... <snip> I
recommend buying from someone else. At least in till we hear some positive
feedback.
