I've posted this in the past a couple of times but it seems that none
of the instructions on the web have been updated.
You DON'T need to unsolder anything, just carefully wiggle the
motherboard free (it's always a bit stuck around the
serial/interconnect ports) and use the place where the wires are as the
hinge.
Done this quite a few times now, never a problem. As an option you can
remove the bit of tape holding the wires down, though it can be done
with the tape in place.
