[NTLK] Newtsync / Entourage 2004

If anyone's interested, Microsoft has *finally* added a 'modification date'
applescript property to a calendar event in Entourage 2004. This means that
we can finally have actual synchronization between the Newt's Dates app and
Entourage. Unfortunately it's just limited to the calendar, not contacts,
but it's something. Standard disclaimer....

** THESE SCRIPTS WILL ONLY WORK WITH ENTOURAGE 2004 -- IF YOU TRY TO USE
THEM WITH ENTOURAGE X, NEWTSYNC WILL NOT FUNCTION. **

I modified the Newtsync dates applescripts to sync from Entourage rather
than iCal. It doesn't limit by category or project, but just transfers
everything. If you know Applescript, then you can probably tweak them
yourself to your liking. You can download a zip file at:
http://members.aol.com/newtonmp2k/newtsync_entourage.zip

Please note that I'm not offering any technical support for these, you use
them at your own peril. Instructions are:
1) Make sure Newtsync isn't running. In your Newtsync folder, click on
NewtSync and hit command-D -- this will make a copy of Newtsync in case you
somehow mess it up, so you have a pristine copy of your app.
2) Right-click or CTRL-click on Newtsync and select "Show Package Contents"
3) In the window that opens, open the "Contents" folder, then open "PlugIns"
4) Right-click or CTRL-click on "SyncDates.bundle" and select "Show Package
Contents".
5) In the window that opens, open the "Contents" folder, then open
"Resources".
6) You'll see 10 applescripts in this folder. Unzip the file you downloaded
before into this folder; they should all be replaced with dates ranging from
1 May 2004 to 31 May 2004. You're now done. Close all the opened windows and
launch Newtsync. (NOT "Newtsync Copy", which is the original, unmodified
version).

When you launch Newtsync and go into the Setup, the Dates panel looks
exactly the same. The "Synchronize Dates" checkbox still works, as does the
"Synchronize Deletions" checkbox and "Sync records that are less than xxx
days" box. "Default Calendar" is there just for eye candy now; you can
select whichever you want, but it won't make a difference.

Anyway I hope this is useful to someone other than myself.

.. Corey
