i finally got it to work. at first i was unmounting the partitiions=20
before renaming since i thought that renaming them while mounted would=20=
cause a problem. if you rename them while unmounted, the names don't=20
remain after closing the slip
also, the first time i renamed the partitions, i wanted to swap the=20
names of partitions 1 & 2 and this caused all kinds of trouble=20
(couldn't open extras) that required a wipe and restore.
