Actually, I give them a two or three times once over. Almost to the
point of being narcissistic ;-) It never fails, after checking it two
or three times and then I hit that send button, it's too late. I'll
re-read it and doh! That's not the right word!
Those who have Macs should take advantage of the built-in grammar
checker called "Speak Text". Listening to the sentences being spoken,
helps find those "spelled correctly" but misplace words.
