Forget the "if no problem exists". The first time when
this problems goes away is when you have taken the
hinges apart, cleaned them thoroughly, put new grease
on them and installed the washers.

Be happy, and still do what I mention above.

Unless you at least install the washers opening it
will be a waste of time. No matter how the springs look
today, they will kill the display cable some day. Installing
the washers will prevent the cable from being killed, but
not the hinge springs from being pulled out. It's no fun
to bring them back to the shape they are supposed to have
once this happens, so you should better re-grease the hinges
while the springs are still OK.
