Sorry to hear your news!
Can I just go on record, I don't think that PocketPC is the worst option out
of those available right now. I use a HP iPaq 5450 with WiFi, Bluetooth,
400mhz, etc and it is great. It's actually surprisingly intuitive (more so
than a Palm definitely I think), and I must admit that I've grown fond of
it's much smaller form factor than the old Newt 2100 I have sitting in the
cupboard gathering dust.
Personally I think you should look at the PPCs. They are the hardware the
Newt OS should be running on today, and the OS isn't nearly as bad as it
could be. (and in my opinion better than the Palm).

P.S. You can sync these with Macs no worries too. I do. :)
P.P.S. Now, just to get Einstein running on this hardware... ;)
