I have rebuilt a couple of emate packs without them, and it's a
pain... Space is very tight in the 2000/2100, so tabs help you stay
nice and compact.
Bottom line, it's possible, but not recommended. I would even choose
2100Mah tabbed batts over 2300 non tabbed ones for the 2000/2100
personally, on the emate there is a little more lee way if you are good
at soldering.
