For me I can describe the situation as follows:
At work I am forced to use a Windows Laptop.
In the office this Laptop is sitting in a docking station with Keyboard,
monitor, mouse, external drives and ethernet and power permanently attached.
Thus it replaces a desktop.
At home I have Windows machines as well as an old Mac (OS9.1).
I am using my Newton 2100 in parallel mainly as agenda, phone book and note
taking device.
So for me there is no point to synch addresses and dates with any of the
other machines.
If I need to look up a phone number or check appointments, I just take my
Newt that is sitting next to the PC I am working with.
The only backdraw is that when going on mission or to a meeting I have to
carry both, the Laptop AND the Newt, which is not really convenient.
So I think twice whether I need the Laptop in the meeting and often I take
the Newt only. If I take the Laptop I have to carry the power adapter and
cables as well, in case the meeting takes more than 2 hours.
This is one more point pro Newt.
Up to now I still live with that situation, because I really love the Newt.
Cheers
Johannes
