[NTLK] synchronization with XP

Sorry to ask this question, but I've dug out my trusty old Newt 2100 and
I can't get it to synch with my newly installed Windows XP, at any
speed. At 2400, it starts, but dies, whether it's a synchronization or
package install.
Do I have to fiddle with XP's serial port settings?
I could not see anything about this in the FAQ. Any help would be
appreciated.
