Sort of. The innards are, in fact, nearly the same. It works with the same
dot pattern. Some prototypes of the Fly used Nokia versions of the Anoto
pen.
If you get a Nokia or Ericsson pen, you can send SVG-format stroke files
over your cellphone to any e-mail address, so you don't need a Windows
box in the picture at all...

It is unfortunate, but it's better than any other solution.
A clipboard underneath would be:
1. Fixed size.
2. Wouldn't know the page you were actually on.
3. Be very susceptible to alignment problems if the paper shifted at all.
4. Not fit in your pocket very easily.
I have to admit, though, that my tolerance for the special paper is
somewhat increased since I can actually generate my own paper whenever I
want.
