Hello,
I have been having intermittent luck connecting my MessagePad 2100 to
the internet using either my WaveLan Silver. I have the correct
drivers as I was able to surf with NetHopper only a week ago. I was
finally surfing then because I put in new settings I found in a post
on a Newton board:
New Internet setting:
Generic setup: using Ethernet Setup name: wireless, config: DHCP,
Card: Lucent WaveLan, Domain: none).
Entering the manual (IP/router) settings for my Airport Express has
never worked. While I have the ssid/wep information entering, I have
never been certain my Newton is connecting to my Airport rather than
the 4-5 other wireless routers around my apartment.
But after a day of the above settings working, now they don't seem to
get past the DHCP server—NetHopper comes back with error -60088 after
about 30 seconds after "Loading the DHCP protocol". I've tried
numerous new settings on my Newton and Airport without success.
That's my main problem and I am wondering if anyone has advice to
offer as in theory since the settings that worked haven't changed, I
should still be able to connect to the internet.
Having a newer Mac I have been unable to connect my Newton to install
additional packages. I've just recently been given a Performa 6400
with a G3 upgrade card so I am half way to making a serial
connection. If anyone has an extra interconnect dongle they're
willing to part with, I'd be happy to hear directly from some one.
