Hi,
please take a look at this:
http://homepage.mac.com/adriano.angelillis/PhotoAlbum20.html
NewtUSB has some unique features:
1. It's recognized as a true COM port by most used OSes on the market
(Mac/Win/Linux/WinCE)
Drivers: http://homepage.mac.com/adriano.angelillis/Menu17.html
2. Using proper accessory can be used to power any MessagePad.
An example advanced MP2x00 only accessory: http://homepage.mac.com/

3. Can be used to connect old serial printers on Mac OSX.
To add a serial printer on OSX, once downloaded the correct printer
software (i.e.: Gimp Print) just get access to CUPS via Safari at
http://127.0.0.1:631/admin (put your log/pass when asked) and follow
online instructions i have found here:
http://webpages.charter.net/mbroughtn/serial_printing.html
http://n.ethz.ch/student/walthec/stylewriter/
4. Fully compatible with NCU, NTK, RCU, NBU, NPI on Classic (Mac OS9)
emulation.
5. Fully recognized by Newten, NewtSync, Escale on Mac OSX.
6. NewtUSB drivers happily coexist with Keyspan or other serial to
usb adapters drivers.
There's one thing i have to admit i am not happy about NewtUSB: OS9
and OSX drivers cannot coexist.
Kind regards,
Adriano
