Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I'd like to give it a try using Escale before
reverting to Classic, if I can anyway!

I've downloaded an installed Escale on the Mac, which is connected
wirelessly to an Router.

The eMate is plugged into the router via its network cable. The router
light doesn't show that there is a cable connected, and the light on
the network card cable doesn't come on.

When I insert the network card into the eMate, it is recognized, and I
have the Internet Setup, Newton Internet, NIE Ethernet Module and
Farallon Enet icons installed in the Extras draw.

I have pressed dock on the eMate, and then launched Escale. Neither
seem then to do anything! Both are looking for a device but never seem
to find it. I have checked to see that AppleTalk is Switched on for
the wireless network on the Mac, and all seems to be OK there.

Is there a step I'm missing? Should I be doing something else to make
the connection work? Here's hoping there's just something obvious that
I've missed and there's no serious problem with the eMate or the
Network Card.

Thanks again.

Best Wishes,

Richard

P.S. Thanks for the tip about the hinge.
