Strangely that is my experience also. In other words, the Gold in the
Newton doesn't seem to like 64bit (40bit) WEP. The silver card works
fine for this, but of course won't work with 128 (104 bit) WEP.
If there is anyone that is using the Gold card with a 40bit WEP setup,
please let us know!
