        My E-mate is hinting at that. Still works, but hinting. Not
sure I will be all gung ho to get that replaced when it does.

Subject: [NTLK] Lament for a dying eMate

<drama queen>

Oh woe is me! Oh woe!... Whatever shall become of me?

Only recently did I buy that prized apparatus: my eMate300. I was=20
forced to leave it at home while we went on a holiday and apparantly=20
the batteries didn't feel that was very fair. For they have become=20
quite fickle and do only as they please.

</drama queen>

Right... Back to proper english :)

As I said: I had to leave the eMate alone for about two weeks. Before=20
that the batteries were working pretty well. I got a nice days of work=20
done on it and would have quite a bit of charge left in the evening.=20
However, upon my return they have become a tad flaky. So now I believe=20
I may have to resort to replacing them sometime soon.

For example:
* I charged the battery fully yesterday.
* I left the system running all night, so I could see if it still holds=20
a proper charge
* This morning when I woke up the system had switched off.
* Had to perform a soft reset to get it to wake up.
* The eMate reports that it had shut down because power had been=20
disconnected.
* When attaching the adapter the battery tool reports that there's=20
about 15% charge left.
* HOWEVER, here's the odd part: when removing the adapter immediately=20
the battery tool all of a sudden reports a 100% charge.
* Had it running on the battery for about 45 minutes now and it's down=20
to ~90%.

How strange is that?

Now, when I bought the eMate the seller (Simon who's also a member of=20
this mailing list) mentioned that the battery was still the original=20
from '97, so I'm not completely surprised by the eMates behaviour. Just=20
thought I'd be a bit of a drama queen :P

/me starts saving up pennies and dimes for replacement parts.

Cheers!

Thomas
