Richard, Martin, Gary,

Thanks all. I'm going to try Gary's suggestion first, since it is something
I can do, then go from there...

Hi Paul,

It seems to me (IIRC) that the wiring pairs are switched in Germany=2E If=

you have the capability to make you own cable, swap the inner and outer
pairs between one end and the other=2E If memory serves the yellow/blck p=
air is on the outside, and the red/green pair is on the inside in a normal
US cable=2E Wire it this way for one end, but reverse the pairs on the
other=

end (red/green on the outside and yellow/black on the inside)=2E

An easy way to test this is get and old cable, cut it in half, strip the
wire ends, and test the reversal that way=2E

Good luck!

Regards,

Gary

It depends on the phone cabling in your house=2E Most times, you will only
be dealing with the Red and Green wires=2E But, = if you reach inside your
wall and come up with a bundle of wires, you would u= se the Blue and Blue
w/white stripes=2E Do NOT cut these wires as they contin= ue to other
