Neil's need for using his backlight in the dark got me thinking - has anyone ever tried to install a red backlight in a Newton? Or maybe a more-yellow-than-green? The red light is often used for reading star maps (and in airplane cockpits, etc.), because the lower frequency doesn't constrict your pupils (at least not as much as higher frequencies), and so you can see into the darkness more easily after staring at your map. You don't to wait for your eyes to adjust. It would seem a natural fit.
