Grmf sometimes it is very annoying! the bootstraping i mean..
After coming back to my green friend, i was happy that i was wise
enough to keep a complete backup on a linear card...
So I had all the software I was needing handy in my newton. Until I
decided to install some new newton books...
Fortunately i was laso wise enough to have the NIE 2 and all the rest
ethernet/internet packages as well as the drivers for 3COM 589E.
But i cant connect to OS X with escale and TCP/IP. Maybe i forgot the
procedure and something slips of me..
So...
1)I go to System Prefs-->Network-->Built in Ethernet settings and set
manually ibook's IP to 10.0.0.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
2)I go to Newton and i make an internet setup with 3COM 589E, GAteway
10.0.0.1 and Local IP 10.0.0.7
3)I fire up Escale, and i fire up Dock TCP/IP. "Connect" , and i give
IP 10.0.0.1 and port 3679 and ispecify the internet setup of 2) to be
used. "Connect" and nothing happens... :-(
Do i miss anything??
Thnx list :-)
Kostas
P.S. With Appletalk is even more difficult to connect..
