It may be possible to improve the functioning of the card slot and
release mechanism. I successfully straightened one though yours may
be different.
When you perform the necessary lid tensioning spring repair
see <http://www.pda-soft.de/emate_disassemble.html>
you will be able to examine the card mechanism and hopefully free it
up enough for easy functioning.
If you don't feel up to the job there are a few folks on the list
that will do them for you. In the last week or two a couple of folks
offered to do this for about $18 USD plus shipping. I also do this
repair but cannot afford to do it for that price, I charge $35 plus
shipping. I will do it for free if you donate 35 Euros to WWNA <

shipping could be $20 or more.
