Frank started what's known as the Loaner Card Program. I volunteered to head
it for the America's to reduce the strain on Frank's time. For those of you
who don't know, Frank lives in Germany.
The program primarily supports anyone who is connectivity challenged with
their Newton's. I've also had special requests for specific setups that
people needed and for whatever reason couldn't do on their own. Another
example is the recent interest in the Bible. It's huge, and won't install on
most Newton's because of it's size. So, I have it on a card that I can
either xfer onto someone's memory card or loan out for them to do
themselves.
The Loaner Cards are packed with Network drivers, Ir Port drivers, WiFi
drivers, Serial Port speed enhancements, as well as dozens of other helpful
.pkg's. My setup is identical to that of Frank's, which is where I got my
manifest.
I also will make requested one-off footprints, provided I have all of the
hardware to test against and the .pkg's are legal to distribute provided you
don't have a valid license. I don't know if Frank is willing to do this.
Essentially Frank services Europe/Asia/Asia-Pacific/Africa and I cover
North/Central/South America.
For more specific details, I've sent out multiple e-mails over the last year
and a half that list the specific .pkg's, what the deposits are, how to put
the deposit down, terms and conditions, etc.
Best Regards,
Paul Curtis
