I doubt it is anything serious. Open the case and take a look at the switch.
Since the plastic casing can deform slightly with changes in temperature,
leaning your hand on it, etc, it is possible that the metal switch contact got
bent slightly. Another possibility is that some light corrosion of the switch
contact's metal surface has taken place. Here is what I would do:
1. Open up the case
2. Examine the switch and the part of the case where it resides for signs of
binding
3. Wipe all metal contact points with a rag/paper towel lightly coated in
WD-40; then dry with a clean, dry rag.
4. Reassemble
