I believe part of the problem is IBM has a lot of customers who are in
the video game business and with their high volume orders compared to
Apple, they just have more say.

So in the end Apple doesn't have as much say in terms of getting a more
compact, cooler G5, so Apple booted that idea.

This being the case, Apple went with intel, a good choice given the
amount of PCs using a wide variety of form factors.

For this reason alone they are a good choice, I am sure you can think
of more.
